India generates approximately 7.8 to 7.9 million tons of textile waste annually, accounting for about 8.5% of the global share. While about 59% of this waste is reused or recycled, a significant portion, around 43% of post-consumer waste, ends up in landfills, with efforts underway to improve recycling infrastructure and circularity.
